Golden Silkweed
Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 36 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has numerous knobbly, straight stems covered in very thick, silky, brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, asymmetrical, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid gold with black dots, resistant and waxy.
It produces a thick sheet of small, light grey flowers with triangular shaped petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like new carpet. In early winter it forms largeblack seed pods.
It is suitable for making strong rope
