Coniwaterfern
Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 195 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in smooth, dark green bark, and the wood inside is white.
The branches are short, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, needle-like, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are azure and amber, resilient and crispy.
In late summer it produces thousands of giant, hazel flowers with triangular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like skunk spray.
The leaves are very toxic, and very bitter.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
