Crimson Silverbush

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 96 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, angular stems covered in fine, smooth, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, very thin, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are silver with aquamarine tips, strong and smooth.

In late summer it produces thick bunches of small, crimson flowers with needle-like petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like vanilla.
