Bloodthorn Succulent

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The perforated stem is pink-red, and is covered in brittle silver spines. The angular, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its magenta or azure branches are very short and thick and start growing at the top the stem.

The sparse amounts of rounded-edged, circular leaves are found in magenta and magenta varieties. They are sturdy, and take some effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are sky blue at the sides and sky blue at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like something putrid.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the brown flesh is rough, and the violet sap is thin.
