Burgundy Log Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly tough; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

It has impressive regenerative properties.
It blooms only at night.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
