Copperstem

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its copper stem is thick, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are very thick with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Lots of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with alternating petals of bold yellow and lilac, with a lilac central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. They are hardy.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like old books, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
