Emerald Clump Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainy mountain ranges, and In heathlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very resistant.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

Several parts of the grass have medicinal properties.
It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
The grass is suitable as food for grazing animals.
