Coilvine Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 72 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, dark gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is brown.

The sparse amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either bronze, or green with white dots.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, caramel blossoms with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like damp.

In mid-summer it produces , circular fruit. The leathery red skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy green flesh is sweet and very juicy. The vivid red seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
