Emerald Flame Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In rainforests, and On rotten logs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely resistant.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
