Thorned Sky Succulent

This large leaf succulent grows up to 107 feet (32.6 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is orange, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid vivid red spines. The lumpy leaves are sky blue and copper. Small amounts of them grow on wide, pink-red branches that are very short, thin and wispy. The leaves are robust, and detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 44 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with turquoise petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 5 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like vanilla.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the dark brown flesh is waxy, and the silver sap is thin.
