Copperbloom

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 136 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of long and flexible, curved stems covered in ridged, silver bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are short and thick with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, wispy, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in white, lime and bold yellow varieties, frail and smooth.

In late summer it produces thousands of tiny, copper blossoms with circular petals. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like coffee.

In mid-autumn long, straight fruits ripen. The leathery copper skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft dark blue flesh is spicy and juicy. The hazel seeds are small and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
