Amber Spine Cactus

This large cactus grows up to 91 feet (27.7 meters) tall. The thin stem is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines. The spherical body is green and moss green, and is covered in thousands of rigid amber spines.

It is slow growing, taking 11 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of bronze, grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 41 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. It has an overpowering scent that smells like old books.

The cactus's skin is thick, the caramel flesh is rough, and the blue sap is thin.
