Copperneedle

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its dull red or copper stem is very thin and splits into 10 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the small, green and silver leaves are needle-like with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with solid lime petals decorated with dark brown lines and a indigo central disk. The flower head is made up of 41 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are sturdy.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like a damp log, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
