Bluebell Fruit Tree

This large fruit tree grows up to 26 feet (7.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in very thick, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is pine-coloured.

The small clumps of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of huge, slender, pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid sky blue with violet edges.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, copper blossoms with 9 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an intense scent that smells like apple.

In early summer it produces , long, tapering fruit. The leathery beige skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is spicy and very juicy. The light grey seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
