Aurora Berry Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in rough, brown-green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.

The extensive patches of branches are short and slender and are covered with thick bunches of small, wispy leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue on the edges and cream at the center.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of large, dark grey blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like rich perfume.

In early summer it produces tiny, long, straight fruit. The fuzzy azure skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy silver flesh is extremely sweet and very juicy. The black seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
