Copper Vine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short bine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 8 feet (2.4 meters) and growing as high as 81 feet (24.7 meters).

It takes 5 months for the copper stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are rough and fibrous.

The asymmetrical, crispy leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are found in intense green, magenta and light brown varieties, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the bine produces dozens of average black flowers.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
