Red Spikegrass
Grass type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized, muted red grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The perforated stalks grow in sparse patches that are light and frail.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, cream spikelet.
During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
