Climbing Vinefruit
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 61 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in cracked, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black with white speckles.
The sparse amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of large, asymmetrical leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid bold blue or bold green, with grey edges.
In early spring, it produces many giant, beige blossoms with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like varnish.
In mid-summer it produces tiny, broad, flat fruit. The soft lime skin is thin and inedible, and the soft copper flesh is sweet and syrupy. The white seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for making strong rope
