Emerald Capsule Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is overwhelmingly resistant.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
