Crimson Silkvine

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 190 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in thin, silky, light brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of rough, miniature, very thin leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are vivid red and crimson.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, subtle green seed pods.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
