Emerald Clump Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly flexible.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores.
