Clinging Sycamore

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 8 meters (26.2 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 171 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in very thick, rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of smooth, huge, thick leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow that gradient shifts to black at the top.

In late summer it forms tiny, cream, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

All parts of the caudiciform are edible.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
