Bleached Cubeactus

This short caudiciform grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The pleated stem is yellow, and is dotted with small red spines. The stocky, light grey trunk can grow to as much as 7 feet (2.1 meters) in diameter. Its subtle yellow branches are short and slender.

The toothed-edged, wide leaves are generally crimson. They are resistant, but detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are pink on the underside and black on the top grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of handfuls of tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a soft scent that smells like bleach.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the slate flesh is leathery, and the lilac sap is thin.
