Coniapple

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 53 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in silky, light gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is gray.

The sparse amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with small bunches of small, broad, flat leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are peach at the bottom and hazel with slate lines at the top.

In early spring, it produces many small, yellow blossoms with 7 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like damp.

In mid-summer it produces small, oblong fruit. The fuzzy purple skin is peel-able and sweet, and the crunchy gold flesh is sweet and very dry. The crimson seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
