Violet Vine

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) tall. Its aquamarine stem is very thin and splits into 4 branching stems at the base, and the large, brown leaves are needle-like with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 21 cm (8.3 inches) wide, with petals that are sky blue in the center, white in the middle and brilliant purple at the edges. The flower head is made up of 6 petals in raised layers. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like onion, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
