Emerald Crescent Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In damp forests, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely resilient.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores.
