Thorned Carambola

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The needle-like stem is yellow-green, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible light grey spines. The straight, caramel trunk can grow to as much as 3 feet (91.4 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its yellow branches trail down towards the ground and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.

The large amounts of smooth-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are bronze and lime. They are flimsy, but detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either green or purple, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 44 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like alcohol.

The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the grey flesh is rough, and the blue sap is thin.
