Clinging Amberfruit

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 54 feet (16.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in cracked, burgundy bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The excessive amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are lime on the edges and amber at the center.

In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, gold blossoms with wide petals. They are sturdy and have a fairly strong scent that smells like new books.

In late autumn it produces tiny, long, tapering fruit. The smooth hazel skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is sour, and the crunchy turquoise flesh is spicy and sour and syrupy. The beige seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
