Crimson Marsh Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs, and In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
