Clinging Silverbark

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 134 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, angular stems covered in delicate, knobbly, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of huge, 2 pointed, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are muted green on the edges and silver at the center, tough and rough.

In early spring it produces many bunches of tiny, brown flowers with oval-shaped petals. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like warm milk.
