Breadflower

This massive flower grows up to 13.8 feet (4.2 meters) tall. Its green stem is wispy, and the large, yellow-green leaves are black on the underside and are slender, pointed with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 99 cm (39.0 inches) wide, with petals that are florescent blue at the sides and turquoise at the center. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 29 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has an intense scent that smells like freshly baked bread, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
