Bloodpine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This huge tree grows up to 141 meters (462.6 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1688 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, cracked, brown-green bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown.

The branches trail down to the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with small bunches of giant, gray needles. The needles themselves are resistant.

In late summer it produces giant, blood red, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
