Twisted Azurefruit

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 53 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in rough, gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow.

The small clumps of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of tiny, spear shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of purple that gradient shifts to cyan at the top.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of medium-sized, cyan blossoms with oblong shaped petals. They fall easily and have the faintest scent that smells like skunk spray.

In late autumn it produces tiny, wide fruit. The hairy azure skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft magenta flesh is sweet and juicy. The bronze seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
