Aurora Blossom Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, yellow bark, and inside, the very light wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of tiny, long, narrow leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are azure and bold purple.

In early spring, it produces many giant, green blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like rotten eggs.

In late summer it produces small, asymmetrical fruit. The fuzzy pink skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy grey flesh is sweet and juicy. The deep red seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
