Copper Shield Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In damp forests, and In marshes.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly delicate; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
