Copperstem Onionflower

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its copper stem is very thick, and the large, lime green leaves are asymmetrical with toothed edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Several tiny flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with cream petals that gradient shift to hazel on the outer edge. The central disk is red. The flower head is largely flat with several raised narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like onion, and it has copious amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.

It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
