Climbing Manfruit Tree

This large fruit tree grows up to 45 feet (13.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, smooth, dark green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The excessive amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue and bronze.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of large, blue blossoms with needle-like petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like a man.

In mid-summer it produces small, fan-like fruit. The fuzzy aquamarine skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft black flesh is sweet and dry. The ashy green seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
