Amber Petal
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its gray stem is wispy and straight, and the small, yellow-green leaves are thin with serrated edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
A single giant flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid amber petals decorated with dark brown lines and a washed-out blue central disk. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered narrow petals. They fall easily.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like meat, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
