Clinging Conifer

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 41 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, wonky stems covered in fine, waxy, brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are very long and slender with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of tiny, fan-like, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are generally blue, rigid and soft.

In late summer it produces clusters of medium-sized, intense yellow blossoms with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like cheese.

In early winter finger-like fruits ripen. The leathery dark grey skin is thin and bitter, and the slightly crunchy intense yellow flesh is slightly sweet and very juicy. The bronze seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.
