Blueheart Caudex

This short caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The narrow stem is yellow, and is covered in dozens of rigid light grey spines. It has a straight, stocky, cream trunk atop a stocky web of rough, exposed roots. The branches are stumpy and lime green and trail down towards the ground.

The toothed-edged, V-shaped leaves are either white, or sky blue with orange patches. They are rigid, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 46 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are yellow on the edges and hazel at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 45 raised, narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like soap.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the sky blue flesh is smooth, and the drab orange sap is thin.
