Coilvine

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in very thick, ridged, gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of large, slender, pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid white or brown, with orange patches.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, lilac blossoms with long, narrow petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like coconut.

In mid-summer it produces , 9 pointed fruit. The smooth white skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is bitter and very juicy. The vibrant green seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
