Blue Thorn Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The very thick stem is black or peach, and is covered in brittle green spines. The rounded leaves are found in grey and green varieties. Sparse amounts of them grow on thick, gnarled, lime green branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are resilient, but take some effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 6 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are either white or bold blue, with a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. It has an intense scent that smells like paint.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the sky blue flesh is leathery, and the cream sap is thin.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.

It is very resistant to fire damage.
