Crimson Bog Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In bogs, and In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly resilient.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores.
