Grass type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big, gray-green grass grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stalks grow in extensive patches that are sturdy and flexible and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, blood red puff.

During the early autumn, it produces excessive amounts of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of medium-sized grains.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
