Clingsnap Vine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its black stem is thin, and the huge, orange leaves are very narrow and elongated with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with magenta petals that gradient shift to silver on the outer edge. The central disk is silver. The flower head is largely flat with 57 raised round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like perfume, and it has copious amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
