Bog Lime Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very rigid; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
