Vine Oak

This enormous tree grows up to 144 meters (472.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 416 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is burgundy.

The branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of smooth, huge, long, tapering leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid orange or white, with indigo splotches.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of tiny, lime blossoms with pleated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like a man.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
