Deepshade Moss

This deep purple moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps On rotten logs, and In moorlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is extremely delicate; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores.
