Copperleaf

This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 41 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of flexible, straight stems covered in fine, smooth, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, circular, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either olive, or sky blue with pink lines, resistant and smooth.

In late spring it produces handfuls of tiny, purple blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like rainy days.

In early winter oblong fruits ripen. The crispy sky blue skin is tough and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is sweet and dry. The lime seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.
