Climbing Gnarled Vine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 12 feet (3.7 meters) and growing as high as 31 feet (9.4 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.
It takes 7 months for the lime green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and gnarled.
The sickle shaped, covered in fine hairs leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are olive at the bottom and yellow with caramel patches at the top, and have smooth edges.
During late spring, the vine produces large amounts of tiny dark grey flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of very large seed pods.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
